Guitar & Piano Classes

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

The guitar and piano are performance instruments, and the primary goal of these courses is for students to become competent, independent performers on their instrument.  For this reason, students will be assessed largely based on their performances on the instrument. It is equally important that a student develop the skills, discipline, and determination to prepare for a performance, therefore an equal portion of the assessment will be derived from how well the student prepares and uses his or her practice time.  The piano and guitar ensembles will have opportunities for creating original compositions, playing in recitals/public performances, and recording their own works.
