Welcome to the Hayward High School library! The library is open Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m.. Students are welcome in the library after school and during lunchtime without a pass. Students who come to the library directly from class must have a pass with the current date, the time, and their teacher's signature.
To many, the purpose of Hayward High's library may seem obvious: to lend books to students. In fact, it serves many purposes. While the library does have plenty of books, its fifteen Internet-ready computers connect individual students to a wealth of information.
Furthermore, the library serves as a venue for many student activities. SAT Prep workshops, guest speakers, and poetry-sharing sessions (as well as other various activities) all take place in the library, making it not only a place for students to study, but a center that encourages diverse activities. It's a great place to play chess, to work on assignments, to plan projects, and...to relax. The library staff only asks that students not bring food or drinks to the library, and that they put away headphones in the library.
