Get Ready for a Moroccan Midnight Prom!
Prom is a formal dance that is held annually for Hayward High School Juniors and Seniors. This year, it will be located at The Terra-Mer Gallery in San Francisco, on Saturday, May 11th, 2013 from 8pm to 12 midnight. The price of a bid per person is as follows:
4/11 - 4/17 Price: $65
4/18 - 4/23 Price: $70 w/o ASB
4/24 - 4/30 Prices: $75 w/o ASB
5/01 - 5/03 Prices: $85 w/o ASB
5/06 - 5/09 Prices: $90 w/o ASB
5/10 Price: $100 w/o ASB

Bids are sold at the ASB Window during lunch and after school. The ASB Window will close at 4:30 pm on Friday, May 10th. Bids may not be purchased after 4:30 on May 10th. The price of the bid includes admission to prom and snacks/desserts.
The snacks/desserts will include:
- Tacos
- Chocolate Fountain
- Cupcakes
- Soft Drinks
In order to attend Prom, your student needs to be either a Junior or Senior at Hayward High School. If your child’s date is not a student of Hayward High School, your child must complete a Guest Pass Form, which is available at the ASB Window, from the Activities Director, Ms. Laine, in K-5, or online on the Junior Class Webpage (see links above.) The last day a Guest Pass Form may be turned in is Thursday, May 9th. Guest Pass Forms may be turned in to the ASB Window beginning Thursday, April 11th.
Pictures are not included in the price of the bid. Order envelopes for professional Prom pictures will be handed out to all juniors and seniors in their English class and will also be available at the ASB window. Admission to the Prom is by bid/receipt only and students must provide a valid (current) student ID otherwise they will not be admitted. Please note that the doors to the Prom will close at 9:30 pm, and the earliest time students are allowed to leave Prom is 12 midnight. Once students leave, they may not re-enter.

Rules/Guidelines
All normal school rules governing the use or possession of weapons, alcohol, drugs, or marijuana will be enforced. Students who violate these policies will be subject to arrest. Parents will be required to come to the Prom to pick up their son or daughter if the policies are violated. Students who violate any of the policies will be suspended from school immediately and be placed on social probation for the remainder of the year, resulting in exclusion from all future senior activities, including the graduation ceremony.
Parents are encouraged to take a strong stand against the use of alcohol by students.
To help ensure the safety of all attendees and to protect the facility of any vandalism, the following items will be confiscated during check-in at Prom:

Dancing Guidelines:
- Both feet/No hands on the floor
- Dancing is a vertical sport; therefore no one should be horizontal
- Dance an appropriate distance from your partner
- No freaking
- No twerking
- NO LAP DANCES or overly suggested dance moves
Consequences for Breaking School Rules/Dancing Guidelines:
- Strike 1 – Verbal Warning
- Strike 2 - Sit Down/Timeout
- Strike 3 - Kick Out
- Attitude About Looking at your Wristband = Automatic Out
- No Wristband = Automatic Out
NOTE: Violent/extreme behavior, possession of drugs and/or alcohol, or being under the influence will result in immediate dismissal from the dance without any warnings.
Dress Code:
- NO BARE FEET!
- Students cannot walk around in socks; they must wear shoes or flip flops.
- No visible under clothing
Girls
- Hemline must be an appropriate length
- No side cutouts
- No low-cut fronts or backs
- No high leg slits
Boys
- No bare chests
