Hello!

My name is Alisa Parsons, and I currently teach AP US History and US History at Hayward High. I've been teaching History in Hayward for the past 6 years. My favorite part of teaching is working with students and encouraging interest in a subject that is not normally a favorite to most high school students. Watching them gain interest and asking questions about current and past events is truly exciting.

I expect students to actively participate in ALL classroom activities (notes, lectures, projects, discussions, etc.). I maintain THE HIGHEST academic expectations for all of my students and will provide them with the necessary support and instruction for them to reach these expectations. Every week I offer office hours for students to ask questions, make up late work, or talk about grades. My office hours are Monday - Friday at Lunch and/or by appointment.

I strive to have updated grades posted for students weekly with the exception of large projects that may require more time to grade. In this case, grades will be posted bi-weekly. Students will be given weekly quizzes on Friday to test the content covered durin the week. There will also be comprehensive chapter tests given every 1-2 chapters.
